A little. I know, at least with the second gen, the 4Runner frame is a bit stronger and less rust prone. It’s fully boxed, versus channeled.

The frame in my little 85 2wd is not great. I’d like to swap versus repair. I can get my hands on a decent 1985 solid axle 4wd 4runner rolling frame, don’t really need 4wd, but is the wheelbase the same as 2wd shorty?
